This morning we made our way through interesting, beautiful rock formations created by volcanic ash that were slowly carved away over millenia by wind, rivers, and rain.  At the end of our morning hike, we climbed atop a ridge full of carved out caves that once served as homes and churches of the local population (a few can be seen in the cliff face behind us).
